The Downer Ave Bike Race is an international professional bike race that literally circles our building every year. For close to 20 years CITC has participated in this event by giving away water bottles, opening up our doors for people to use the rest rooms and having a place for the kids to play. This outreach is a great opportunity for us to meet our neighbors but we need your help. Soon you will find sign-up sheets in the lobby for one-hour volunteer slots. We will need volunteers willing to sit at tables scattered along the race route to hand out water bottles, people to be in the building keeping the bathrooms clean and stocked as well as helpers to supervise the children’s areas outside on the lawn. For many, it is the highlight of our church summer events and can be an amazing community building experience. Please consider joining us for at least a few hours on that day. We usually need the most help from about 3 – 8 PM. For questions, contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 414-961-1122
If you or someone you know of in the CITC family is graduating this year, we would like to honor you in a service in June. Please contact the CITC office and we will let you know what you need to do.
The Church in the City Leadership Team and Staff would like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy new year. We pray that this year you all would grow closer to the One who made you and knows you more deeply than you know yourself.
We would love for you and your family to join us on Christmas Eve at 5 PM for a special candlelit Service celebrating the birth of our Savior. The service will complete promptly at 6 PM so you can return home and celebrate with family and friends. We encourage you to take some time out of the busy day to spend some time in reflection and worship on the birth and life of Jesus.
This Sunday is our Children’s Christmas Singing. We hope you will join us and invite others that might enjoy celebrating this time with our children. After the service, we would like everyone to stay and have some refreshments to congratulate the children and all those who have been working so hard with them. CITC will be providing apple cider but we are asking for some of you to bring cookies for everyone to enjoy.
Thanks much and see you on Sunday at 10 AM.
Parents, remember if your kids are in Kidz Church, have them in their class Sunday by 9AM and if they are in Preschool, by 9:30.
One of the CITC Objectives for the 2015-2016 year is develop in the areas of prayer and fasting, in order to pursue the intimacy and power to which God calls us. After Jesus’ ascension to Heaven, the disciples prayed all together in an upper room for 10 days awaiting the coming of the Holy Spirit. Though we are unable to all gather together for 10 consecutive days, we can all commit to praying for a short time every day for 10 days.
Please pick a 30 minute time of the day that you could commit to praying everyday from November 13-22nd. Sign up by going to http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0e4cabab2ba5f94-10days
Church in the City’s Fall Frenzy is this Wednesday October 28 at 6:30 -8:00 PM and is open to all children. We ask that parents of children under 1st grade stay with their children. However, all parents are welcome to stay. This is not a Halloween party so please do not allow children to come in costumes of any kind. We are looking for many helpers to help make this event fun for the kids. If you are available to help run snacks, crafts or games please sign up in the lobby.
